SELF INTRODUCTION

MATERI KELAS 10 TAHUN AJARAN 2021/2022

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

·         Students are able to identify the social function, structure, and language features of the expressions of self introduction.

·     Students are able to use personal and possessive pronouns to introduce themselves and describe their family.

·  Students are able to use possessive adjectives and WH-questions to make conversations about personal identity and family relations.

·       Students are able to introduce themselves.

·       Students are able to describe their family correctly.

 

A. Greetings (Ucapan salam/sambutan)

Greetings seringkali digunakan atau diekspresikan secara berbeda pada waktu yang berbeda. Misalnya:

Good afternoon (selamat sore), good evening (selamat malam), dan good morning (selamat pagi).

Hi dan hello merupakan sapaan yang artinya sama, keduanya merupakaan jenis sapaan yang netral cenderung formal. Sedangkan hey merupakan sapaan yang tidak formal.

Formal Greetings are:

1.     Good morning

2.     Good Afternoon

3.     Good evening

4.     Hello        

Informal Greetings are:

1.     Hey

2.     Hi

3.     Whats’up

4.     What’s good?

B. Menanyakan kabar:

How are you dan how do you do sama-sama menanyakan kondisi/kabar/keadaan, keduanya pun jatuh dalam ranah netral cenderung formal.

Sedangkan how are you doing, how are things, dan how is it gong merupakan sapaan yang menanyakan kabar secara informal.

C. Introducing yourself

-Hello, my name is Alisha.

3.     Then your location

-I’m a position at Telkomsel Company.

-I’m a manager at Star Company.

-I work in general sales.

-I work in sales.

-I work as a teacher.

-I’m a student.

5.     Qualification

-I‘m about to graduate.

- I am a Biology graduate.

- I’m currently taking a course in maths.

- I’m currently taking a course on jewellery making.

- I’m taking a Math course.

6.     Experience

-I hace 3 years of experience in the English Program

-I have 10 years of sales experience.

-I’ve worked in the accounting field for three years.

7.     Family

-I have a brother

-I have a sister

-I have a mum and dad

-I’m from a family of four.

-I am one of four siblings.

-I’m an only child.

-I really like running.

-I really enjoy tennis.

9.     Age:

-I’m a 25 years old.

-I’m in my mid-twenties.

-She’s in her early teens.

-He’s in late forties.

D. Farewells (Ucapan selamat jalan)

 

Good-bye berarti selamat tinggal; ucapan ini netral cenderung formal.

Meski good night adalah “selamat malam”, namun ucapan tersebut tidak pernah digunakan sebagai sapaan, melainkan untuk mengatakan “selamat tinggal” pada saat malam hari atau saat akan pergi tidur.

Have a nice… (day/evening/weekend) berarti “semoga hari/malam/akhir pekanmu menyenangkan” biasanya diucapkan saat berpisah dengan teman atau kolega. Biasa juga diucapkan antara penjual dan kostumer di pertokoan. Salam yang tepat untuk membalasnya adalah you too yang berarti “semoga hari/malam/akhir pekanmu juga menyenangkan”.

 

Nice meeting you dan nice to see you berarti “senang bertemu denganmu”. Merupakan ucapan selamat tinggal pada seseorang yang baru Anda temui untuk pertama kalinya.

Take care berarti “jaga dirimu baik-baik”. Sama dengan see you, see you later, see you soon, dan so long—yang sama-sama berarti “sampai jumpa”—merupakan ekspresi yang informal.

- I was born on August 20th 1981 (August twentieth, nineteen eighty one) in Karawang (Saya lahir pada tanggal 20 Agustus 1981 di Karawang.

4. Age (Umur)
- I am thirty-eight years old. (Umur saya 38 tahun)

- I am from Karawang. (Saya berasal dari Karawang)
- I come from Karawang. (Saya berasal dari Karawang)

6. Address (Alamat)
